Being a parent or caregiver is both a challenging and profoundly important role. We understand that at times, it can feel overwhelming. It’s crucial to remember that you are not alone in this journey.

Every parent and caregiver needs support at different stages, and there are moments when we can offer help to others as well. Our mission is to ensure that no matter where you are in Solano County, you and your family feel supported, connected, and equipped with the resources needed to thrive. Together, we can build a resilient and nurturing community for all.

Support is available for basic needs and beyond. These local organizations can help:

  • Family Resource Centers

  • Vallejo First 5 Center

  • Catholic Charities

  • St. Vincent de Paul Society Conferences

  • Resource Connect Solano

  • Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano

  • Solano CARES

Ensure Your Baby’s Health

 

Programs in Solano County provide vital health resources for infants and young children:

  • Black Infant Health Program and Healthy Families Solano offer home visiting services.

  • Women, Infants & Children (WIC) provides supplemental nutrition assistance.

  • Help Me Grow offers developmental, social, and emotional health screenings for children aged 0-5.

Connect with Other Parents

 

Sometimes, talking with others who understand your experiences can make all the difference. Consider joining:

  • Parent Cafés or Mocha Mommas Thrive for conversations about parenting concerns.

  • Solano Pride Center for activities and support for the LGBTQIA+ community.

For mental health and other concerns, visit SolanoConnex.org, which offers resources for mental health, substance use, and abuse.

Specialized Support Groups

 

If you’ve experienced a loss, these groups can provide comfort and guidance:

  • Grief Share for recent bereavement support.

  • The Compassionate Friends, Solano County Chapter for families grieving a loss.

  • Triple P Positive Parenting Program

  • Nurturing Father’s Program

  • Effective Black Parenting Program
