Child Abuse Prevention Month is an opportunity to raise awareness and take action to protect children. This month reminds us of our collective responsibility to prevent abuse, support families, and ensure every child has the resources and care they need to thrive.

Working Together to Prevent Child Abuse and
Empower Families
The Solano Child Abuse Prevention Council (CAPC) brings together community leaders, organizations, and concerned citizens to create a safer, healthier future for children in Solano County. Through education, advocacy, and partnerships, CAPC works to prevent child abuse, support families, and promote resilience. By addressing local needs and fostering collaboration, CAPC is committed to empowering families and ensuring every child can thrive.

Council Members
CAPC is convened by the Children’s Network of Solano County and consists of 20 dedicated volunteer members, including representatives from public and private agencies, community advocates, professionals from diverse fields, individuals from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds, and residents from across Solano County's geographical regions.
The Solano Child Abuse Prevention Council leads the charge in coordinating child abuse prevention services, fostering collaboration among community organizations and agencies to create a unified response.

Empowering the Community by
Raising Awareness
CAPC is dedicated to raising public awareness about child abuse and neglect, as well as the resources available for intervention and support. Through our presence at community resource events, we provide information and connect families with vital services to prevent and address child abuse. Our goal is to empower the community with the knowledge and tools needed to protect and nurture all children in Solano County.

Become a Community Supporter
CAPC offers free, comprehensive mandated reporter training to help professionals recognize, report, and prevent child abuse. Our training supports families and strengthens protective networks, while promoting education in the detection, treatment, and prevention of child abuse and neglect.

In 2022, Solano County reported a staggering 3,252 cases of child abuse, an urgent crisis impacting our community and demanding action.
No child deserves to experience abuse. It not only harms them but also impacts families, schools, and the well-being of our entire community. Together, we can work toward prevention and ensure every child receives the safety and support they deserve. Learn how you can help.
