  • Provide training for professionals to enhance their ability to identify, prevent, and address child abuse and neglect.

  • Advocate for improved services for children, families, and victims.

  • Encourage community involvement and support for child abuse prevention programs.

Together, we strive to create a safer, more supportive environment for children and families in Solano County.

Roles and Responsibilities

CAPC plays a vital role in developing strategic policies and work plans that support its Mission, Vision, Purpose, Priorities, and Objectives.

The Children’s Network of Solano County provides staff support to CAPC through a contractual agreement with Solano County.

Building a Data-Driven Plan for

Child Abuse Prevention

The Solano Child Abuse Prevention Council (CAPC), in partnership with Solano County Child Welfare Services, leads a countywide effort to strengthen child abuse prevention. Through collaboration with community leaders and stakeholders, CAPC develops targeted strategies that address local needs and enhance child safety and family support services.

A key part of this effort is the Community Needs Assessment, conducted in partnership with Applied Survey Research. This assessment identifies local risk factors, maps existing services, and gathers input from community members and stakeholders. The findings provide valuable insights that inform a comprehensive prevention plan, ensuring that data-driven strategies effectively support children and families across Solano County.
